A journey of faith, fitness, and transformation.
Featuring 8 Practical Steps for Strength and Spirit
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:19
A Journey of Faith and Strength
Whether you’re a fellow believer seeking to strengthen your walk with God, a fitness enthusiast looking to honor your body, or someone trying to blend both, this blog is for you. Here, we lift heavy, live holy, and grow stronger together — body, mind, and soul.
Faith and fitness have transformed my life. From an early age, the odds were stacked against me — but God had a plan. Through every challenge, my Heavenly Father guided, shaped, and strengthened me into the woman I am today.
I’m Kristin, 29 years young, and the Lord has blessed me with a beautiful life. Together with my husband, we live to serve, grow, and walk in obedience to His call.
We are missionaries. This October 2025 marks the start of our very first mission trip to South Africa. We’ll share the Good News and our testimonies with those God has prepared before us.
“In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.”
— Proverbs 3:6
Faith Meets Fitness – and some HARD TRUTH
On top of my unwavering faith, I have a passion for fitness. Though I’m fat, weightlifting has played a significant role in my walk with the Lord. Sisters, acceptance is the first step, not the final form. Here, our expectations are realistic and our goals are defined. I’m not a skinny influencer trying to lose 10 lbs. I’m 5’4″ and 218 lbs and I started from 233 lbs. What we want we give to the Lord, and we do what is prescribed. It’s hard to say “I’m fat” for many of us. I went through the fat acceptance phase and all it did was raise my triglycerides and ruin my hormones. Let’s be our own best friend and give ourselves the respect of being REAL. If you’re overweight, if the rolls are going over your pants, you are fat. If fast walking through the airport or climbing a set of stairs wears you down, you are out of shape. If you are already under eating, more under eating is not the answer. I’m talking about the obese, the out of shape, they know who they are. And, if you aren’t trying to lose weight, this blog is still for you. We will talk about health, building muscle, bulking and cutting, nutrition, and it will apply to everyone. Here, we are the same even if our bodily goals are different, because we are Children of God. We are here to serve him.
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.
Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness
and peace for those who have been trained by it.“
— Hebrews 12:11
Just as He has circumcised my heart, He has also shaped and molded me through discipline and obedience. Just like our bodies don’t hide our calorie intake, our Lord doesn’t hide the truth. He gives us the truth, his wisdom, to be his disciples. We are his daughters. He has blessings for us. When we wear his blessings loudly we glorify Him! Let’s be strong, let’s be beautiful, let’s be healthy! Let’s be His Iron Daughters! Our bodies, minds, and souls are forged by fire. They are refined through trials and surrender. We will wear the armor of His strength and glory, proudly.
“For You have put us to the test, God;
You have refined us as silver is refined.”
— Psalm 66:10
You are a temple of God. We must prepare our bodies to serve and glorify our Creator — not for vanity, but as vessels of worship.
A Story of Redemption and Resilience
I’ve been healthy, competitively-strong, but I’ve also abused my body through under eating, overeating, and laziness. I surrender to His call — not to worship my body, but to honor the One who gave it to me.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3
I’m not 19 anymore, but that doesn’t matter. With determination, faith, and grit, we can sculpt and redefine our bodies to serve His purpose.
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
— Philippians 4:13
Practical Steps for Strength and Spirit
Here’s how I integrate faith and fitness into my everyday life — With this template I honor God, strengthen my body, and grow spiritually:
1. MORNING BIBLE READING
Spend 20–30 minutes each morning reading the Bible, studying diligently until you reach a point of full comprehension. This practice will help set your mind and spirit on God for the day. Sometimes I read until I feel my mind can’t take in another verse. That’s when I know God is stretching my understanding.
2. STRENGTH TRAINING
Lift weights 4–5 times a week; even just 2 sessions can make a significant difference. Strengthen your body as an act of honoring the temple God has given you. There are days I only lift for 30 minutes, but I remind myself that consistency matters more than duration.
3. DAILY MOVEMENT
Aim for 8,000 steps most days; however, even a 20-minute walk counts — prioritize staying active as it supports both your physical and spiritual health. I use this time to look at what God created, and walk with the Lord in deep thought.
4. PRAYER & JOURNALING
Begin and end each day by praying and journaling, reflecting on God’s presence, guidance, and the lessons learned in each moment. At night, I reflect on how God showed up during the day — even in the small moments like a perfect walk in the sunshine.
5. NOURISHING FOODS
Fuel your body with protein and whole, nourishing foods, remembering that how you care for your body reflects your worship. I don’t always want to do this, but I feel so good when I do.
6. HYDRATION
To maintain optimal energy, focus, and overall health, you should aim to drink 2–3 liters of water each day — keeping your body properly hydrated is essential. I was not born to love water. This is one of my biggest struggles. I will use water flavoring, electrolytes, or just change up my water bottle to keep the routine.
7. SLEEP & REST
To achieve optimal health, aim for 8–9 hours of sleep each night — prioritize being in bed by 8 PM if necessary — because adequate rest is essential for your body, mind, and spirit. This is a must. Sleep helps with muscle recovery, hormone balance, and just general well-being. Women need more sleep than men. Just having a healthy sleeping habits will help you in the gym, control your cravings, and maintain a good mood overall!
8. SEEK GOD IN EVERY MOMENT
From the mundane to the extraordinary, seek God’s hand in everything — practice seeing His guidance and grace throughout your day. We see it throughout the Bible, Old Testament to New Testament. We forget the work of Gods hands so quickly. Look for Him everywhere and he will guide your paths. He has many blessings for you, you’ll see!
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
For His Glory
I can’t wait to show you how it’s done. Faith and fitness intertwine to build something far stronger than muscle. This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about obedience, humility, and glorifying God through every rep, every prayer, and every shred of progress.
